ClipCostTracker

For ComfyUI AI video production

Know exactly what your AI video renders cost.

ClipCost Tracker watches your ComfyUI jobs, turns execution time into clear GPU cost estimates, and keeps every project inside its budget — before the invoice surprises you.

  • ✓ Free plan: 1 ComfyUI instance, last 100 jobs, basic stats
  • ✓ Collector runs on your own machine — no public GPU port needed
  • ✓ Estimates are clearly labeled. We never pretend to read cloud invoices.

Built for AI video production teams

From solo creators to small studios shipping ComfyUI workflows every day.

Job-level cost tracking

Every ComfyUI prompt gets a verifiable start/finish record and an estimated GPU cost based on your own hourly price.

Failure rate & quality

Separate execution success from usable output. Mark results as usable or not, and see the real cost of a finished clip.

Project budgets

Group jobs into projects, set a budget in your currency, and get in-app alerts at 80% and 100%.

Cost anomaly alerts

Rules for expensive single jobs, budget thresholds and failure spikes — with minimum sample sizes so noise never alarms you.

Multi-instance

Track up to 5 ComfyUI instances on Pro — home rig, cloud GPU box, render farm node — each with its own price and settings.

Privacy-first collector

The collector only observes job metadata on your machine. No prompts, images or videos are uploaded by default.

Up and running in three steps

  1. 1

    Create an account & instance

Register free, add your ComfyUI instance and set its GPU hourly price.

  2. 2

    Install the collector

One small Python service on your ComfyUI machine, talking to localhost only.

    CLIPCOST_TOKEN=cct_xxx python -m collector
  3. 3

    Watch costs & budgets

Jobs, workflow rankings and project budgets appear in your dashboard automatically.

Estimates, not invoices

We are honest about what a cost tracker can and cannot know.

What we calculate

  • A. Actual execution time from verified start/finish events
  • B. Estimated task cost = execution seconds ÷ 3600 × your GPU hourly price
  • C. Project rollups with an explicit idle-cost allocation method you choose

What we never claim

  • Your cloud provider's real bill — storage, idle and on/off pricing differ per platform
  • Live rental quotes — you set the price; we don't invent market rates
  • Exact attribution for concurrent jobs — those are marked "estimated"

Frequently asked questions

Does the collector need my ComfyUI port open to the internet?

No. The collector runs on the same machine (or LAN) as ComfyUI and connects outbound over HTTPS to ClipCost. Your ComfyUI API stays private.

What data is uploaded?

Job metadata only: prompt ID, status, timestamps, a workflow hash and optional GPU model. Full prompts, images, videos and raw workflow JSON are not uploaded by default.

How is cost calculated?

Estimated task cost = execution seconds ÷ 3600 × the GPU hourly price you configure. Concurrent or multi-GPU jobs are clearly marked as estimates.

Do I need a GPU to use ClipCost?

No. The dashboard runs on any computer; the collector just needs network access from your ComfyUI machine.
